The short version: Google Analytics measures visits without cookies by default. Analytics and Google Ads conversion cookies are used only if you accept them. If you contact us by form or email, we use your details to respond. We do not sell your information.
Who this covers
This notice is about the Shelf Compass marketing website at shelfcompass.com. Our Shopify app, MarginGuard, handles merchant and store data under its own notice: MarginGuard privacy policy, also linked inside the app.
What the website collects
- Your cookie choice. Browsing does not require an account. Analytics and advertising cookies are denied by default. We store your accept/reject choice in your browser’s local storage so it applies on later visits.
- What you send us. The contact form sends your email address, optional name, message and any file you choose to attach to admin@shelfcompass.com through our email provider. Messages sent directly by email reach the same inbox. Do not include passwords or sensitive information.
- Analytics and ad measurement. The Google tag loads on each page using Advanced Consent Mode. Before you accept, or if you reject, it sends consent signals and visit measurements without cookies. These requests contain page and technical information, such as browser details and request headers; “without cookies” does not mean no data is sent to Google. If you accept, analytics cookies allow measurement across visits, and Google Ads conversion cookies record whether a visit from one of our ads led to a contact. When the contact form is sent successfully, or an email link is clicked, the tag records that event; we do not send contact names, email addresses, message contents or file names as analytics parameters. Configured page locations omit query strings and fragments, and referrers contain only their origin. Ad personalisation and remarketing remain disabled.
- Server requests, regional prices and abuse prevention. Our host records standard request logs, such as IP addresses. When you open the home or pricing page, our server compares your IP address with public lists of country address blocks to show regional prices in your local currency for the Pacific Islands; this check is not stored. The contact handler temporarily uses your IP address to limit repeated submissions. These uses keep the site working and the email service secure, not for visitor profiling.
How we use it
We use your contact details and message to respond, review project enquiries, arrange early access if requested, and provide support. Analytics helps us understand use of the website and whether our Google Ads lead to enquiries: measurement without cookies operates by default, and cookie-based measurement requires your consent. We do not send marketing you did not ask for.
Who we share it with
Our hosting and email providers process information needed to operate the site and deliver messages. Google processes visit measurements without cookies by default, and with analytics and ad conversion cookies if you accept; this may involve processing outside the European Economic Area. Keeping it, and your choices
We keep email correspondence only as long as it's useful, then delete it. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just email admin@shelfcompass.com.
You can accept, reject or withdraw consent to cookies using “Cookie settings” in the footer. Rejecting does not prevent you from using the contact form. Withdrawing disables analytics and ad conversion cookies and removes this site’s existing Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies; measurement without cookies continues. It does not delete data already sent to Google.

If this notice changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
