Developer at the Estonian Internet Foundation (.ee)

I build and maintain browser extensions, web applications, AI dubbing tools and integrations — and lead Shelf Compass, an independent software studio.

I use the experience of running my own products to help businesses improve their websites, connect the tools they use and build useful software.

My day job is building the systems behind the .ee domain at the Estonian Internet Foundation — client work gets the same standards for security, payments, identity, integrations and documentation.

The .ee registry.

Since 2021 I have been a software developer at the Estonian Internet Foundation (Eesti Interneti SA, EIS), the foundation that runs Estonia's country-code top-level domain .ee. The work is part of Estonia's digital infrastructure: domain management and the domain lifecycle — registry, registrars and registrants — Estonian digital identity, payments and accounting, and many third-party API integrations.

  • eeID sign-inCo-author of eeID, the foundation's authentication service: people sign in electronically with Estonian digital identity documents — national ID card, Mobile-ID, Smart-ID — and passkeys.
  • Domain auctionCo-author of the .ee domain auction and the second-largest contributor to its codebase — source on GitHub.
  • Billing and paymentsCreator of the foundation's invoicing and payment system: invoice generation, online payments and payment links via EveryPay, auction deposits and refunds, bank integration (LHV Connect), accounting (Directo), Estonian e-invoices (Omniva) and eeID integration. Source and API documentation are public.
  • .ee RDAPCreator of the .ee RDAP service — the standards-based JSON successor to WHOIS (RFC 9082/9083/9224) for .ee registration data, with GDPR-aware tiered disclosure that shows more to users authenticated through eeID.
  • Registrar accreditationMain developer of the registrar accreditation centre.
  • Registry and integrationsLong-time contributor to the .ee registry software (TLD management), plus the registrant portal, REST WHOIS and the registrar portal — and the integrations that connect them: EveryPay, LHV Connect, Directo, Omniva e-invoices and the Estonian business register API.

This is employment, not Shelf Compass client work; most of the source code is public on GitHub under internetee.

How I work.

My Little Indie Studio.

Most of my products were first published under My Little Indie Studio. That portal still serves their product pages, documentation, policies and licences, and the store listings link to it. Shelf Compass is the studio that presents the same work and takes on projects for other businesses.
