Who it helps
People who want captioned web videos — courses, HTML5 players — dubbed into their language on sites that have no dedicated extension.
The problem it solves
The site-specific dubbers only work on their own platform; other sites with captions had no one-click dubbing.
What it does
- Detects videos with accessible captions and adds a floating Dub control per video
- Translates the captions and generates a synced speech track over the ducked original audio
- Free path: standard mode with Google Translate and on-device Piper speech
- PRO: real-time mode, premium local and cloud voices, LLM translation and your own AI provider keys
- Per-video state — multiple videos on a page get independent language and voice settings
- Caches generated audio locally
Needs detectable captions; DRM-protected video and live streams are excluded. Listed on the Chrome Web Store as “Unlimited Universal Video Translator”.
